No, it’s not an artful interpretation of Spongebob Squarepants, but the ingredients for making home made dryer sheets!

This is so easy, cheap, and really works super!

1 bottle of your favorite liquid fabric softener

1 sponge

1 container with lid

Step 1. Pour fabric softener into container, no more than 3/4 way full.

Step 2. Cut sponge into approx. 3-4 inch chunks.

Step 3. Put sponge chunks in fabric softener.

To use, simply squeeze out fabric softener from sponge and toss into dryer with your wet clothes.

Technically speaking, you only need one small sponge chunk, or some other piece of fabric. I use multiples because my laundry room has a Bermuda Triangle thing going on. I lose them.

This one $3 bottle of fabric softener is going to last months, for hundreds of loads.

Other variations include using fabric and drops of your favorite essential oils.

do these leave ’softener marks’ on things like the sheets often do? (I’ve even had this from liquid–stripes and drips on freshly dried clothes or linens)

Jan, I haven’t had any issues with this personally but I can’t make any promises!
